Free radicals are unstable molecules that attack healthy cells, destroying DNA and cell membranes. They result from the body's natural metabolism, but are also caused by environmental factors like pollution, sunlight, smoking and stress. Free radicals are believed to play a part in aging and in many degenerative diseases. Antioxidants work by deactivating free radicals, supplying the extra electron they need to become stable molecules. Fruits, vegetables, tea, wine and soy products are all well-known antioxidant sources. NSI® Super ORAC Antioxidant Complex is a combination of several powerful antioxidants, including extracts of grape skin, grape seed, green tea, and pine bark. Together, these antioxidants may reduce the number of free radicals in the body, protect the immune system and promote overall health. Super ORAC Antioxidant Complex contains an exclusive form of grape seed extract called ActiVin®. Unlike other grape seed extracts, Activin® is manufactured using a patented, all-natural process that extracts proanthocyanidins (powerful antioxidants) from red grape seeds without the use of chemicals.
