QBC Plex by Solaray is a dietary supplement formulated with non-citrus Quercetin, Bromelain, Vitamin C Complex. QBC Plex is a natural cold and allergy treatment with 3 synergistic ingredients that work together to treat allergy cold and sinus symptoms. Quercetin belongs to a class of water-soluble plant pigments called flavonoids. Quercetin acts as an antihistamine and has anti-inflammatory activity. Since flavonoids help protect and potentiate vitamin C, quercetin is often taken with vitamin C. The anti-inflammatory effect of bromelain is the reason this enzyme is effective for people suffering from sinusitis. In addition, bromelain reduces the thickness of mucus, which may benefit patients with asthma or chronic bronchitis. Vitamin C has an effect in preventing the common cold, it reduces the duration and severity of a cold. Large amounts of vitamin C (e.g., 1GÇô8 grams daily) taken at the onset of a cold episode shorten the duration of illness by an average of 23%.
