Researchers believe DPA inhibits the action of an enzyme that breaks down endorphins and enkephalins - proteins that bind to opiate receptor sites in the brain, thereby influencing the perception of discomfort. By obstructing the action of this enzyme, DPA may extend the life of endorphins and enkephalins, and their positive influence on comfort levels. Supplement Facts for 375 mg Serving Size: 2 tablets Amount %DV DL- Phenylalanine 750 mg Other Ingredients: dibasic calcium phosphate, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, modified cellulose gum and talc. Warning: Contains phenylalanine. Not to be used by phenylketonurics, pregnant or breast-feeding women, or with antidepressant drugs such as MAOI s or SSRI s.
