Bioavailable Zinc Goes To Work Fast Both the Wellness Zinc Lozenges and Throat Spray feature zinc in the form of gluconate, the most efficient, non-binding form, along with ascorbate and amino acid chelate. These zinc formulas allow for up to 90% of free-form zinc ions from gluconate to be released in the mouth and throat. The non-binding quality of zinc gluconate is very important to your body's ability to utilize zinc. Other formulas may contain citric acid, or mannitol-sorbitol sweetener mixtures, and as a result do not work nearly as well. That is because these compounds bind free zinc ions so tightly that very little of it is released into the oral cavity. It is important to note that simply drinking citrus juice at the same time as using either delivery system will have this same "binding" effect. Supplement Facts Serving Size: 1 lozenge Amount %DV Zinc (as zinc gluconate, ascorbate, & chelate) 23 mg 1.53Vitamin C (as zinc ascorbate) 30 mg 0.5 Other Ingredients: fructose, natural peach-raspberry flavor, honey, peach and papaya fruit powders, microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, citric acid, hydrogenated soy oil, vegetable stearic acid, vegetable magnesium stearate, mono diglycerides, and xanthan gum.
