I am from British Columbia, Canada. I tried a cup of Bija Hawthorn tea with a little lemin today. It was delicious, as advertised, however, I had what I can only best describe as symptoms of an MSG (monosodium glutamate) attack. I have researched Hawthorn Hibiscus and passionflower and the only contraindication is that hawthorn may "potentiate with certain cardiovascular medication". I take 50 mg. of metoprolol, 12.5 mg. of HCT (hydrochlorothiazide) and 2.5 mg. of ramapril. Can you tell me if any of these drugs may interact with the hawthorn in your tea, I also take a hawthorn capsule every morning. The tea I drink in the afternoon. Thank you.
